"Louie, Louie", fue compuesta y escrita por Richard Berry, un cantante y compositor de Rock & Roll negro, nacido el 11 de Abril de 1935, en Nueva Orleand, USA.

En 1956, la canción fue un éxito total en la costa oeste Americana, y más tarde, producto del cover hecho por "The Kingsmen", esta se hizo conocida a nivel de todo USA.

Se han hecho casi unas 1000 versiones de este tema, y a pesar de que la letra es inofensiva, tambien es dificil de comprender, por lo que se le dieron interpretaciones obscenas, y fue prohibida en distintos estados; hasta fue investigada por el FBI
